BEFORE YOU GO

Good to know.

How do I reach Sint Eustatius?

Most visitors connect through St Maarten (SXM), then continue to Statia’s F.D. Roosevelt Airport (EUX) with a regional airline such as Fly Dutch Caribbean, or arrive at Gallows Bay with Makana Ferry. Always verify current schedules before building your international connection.

Do I need a car?

There is no public transport network on Statia. A rental car is the easiest way to explore independently; Statia Rental offers cars and scooters with airport, ferry and hotel delivery. Taxis are also available, but advance arrangements are sensible.

When should I reserve diving and hiking?

Contact dive operators before arrival, especially if you need equipment or instruction. The Quill is a genuine tropical hike: start early, carry water, use proper footwear and check local trail guidance.
